Sometimes days are too busy, life is hectic, time flies by… and before we know it, we have neglected our relationship – our love.
We started our day as usual… coffee with pure maple syrup and cream, and toast topped with avocado, eggs and sauerkraut (you need to try this… it is SO good!!!) Then we exchanged gifts… I gave my husband a wooden cutting board… I know he likes sticking to the theme of traditional wedding gifts, and the 5th year is wood… I’m more of a practical gift-giver. I gave him a couple of other things wrapped in the leftover paper from our wedding gifts (awww! lol). He gave me an adventure… hiking in the woods and a stay in a wooden cabin… he’s more creative than I am.He even arranged a sitter so that we could hike solo!
Our time in this little cabin, tucked away in woods, was so perfect and very much needed.
As we listened to
the bugs and birds singing,
and the trees whispering,
our minds slowed,
our hearts opened…
and we could actually listen to,
It was such a beautiful way to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary…
and dreaming together!
